How I did it: No it didn't make me filthy rich (yet!) because that's not really the point. Together with my friend across the street we compiled a collection of blogs about our neighbourhood and crowdfunded for set up costs. It worked: we sold around 120 books in pre-sale so we're risk free financially. Yesterday we presented the book in the local bookshop. The owner is a bit of a book celebrity with a monthly appearance on a national tv show and she has 4,000 Twitter followers. Plus she likes the neighbourhood and, I guess, us. Hopefully she'll promote the book. We will promote it ourselves as well in the neighbourhood. It won't make us filthy rich but it is good fun. Read how I did it… 1 week ago

I’m only adding it because I need to post this somewhere and my other goals won’t do:
The book I wrote with my friend is coming out tomorrow!
Yup, release party tomorrow afternoon. It is not so much a ‘book’ book as a collection of short blogs about our neighbourhood but it’s still pretty nifty. Also, any book we sell will immediately give us some profit because we (authors & publisher) financed it by crowdfunding. In effect this means that people pre-ordered the book and that took care of our financial risk. If you’re willing to bring money with you, a (small) publisher might be more easily triggered to get you set up for publication, eh? Yeah!
Excited! :) 1 week ago

There are many methods to getting a book published some are long and hard others easy. You can self-publish, but if you don’t sell a lot in a very short time the chances of you getting picked up by a publisher is slim. I instead went another route not heard of much, which is to be a part of a collective as you might call it. I am one of several authors writing a book. My part is write one chapter and promote the book when it comes out. You can see lots of collective type books out their for example the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. I came across a couple of people doing such books and I was very fortunate to be accepted as one of the authors. This year I will have two books out that I am a part of and I now have the title of published author, co-author and books with my name on it. Feel free to message me for more info. 3 weeks ago

I’ve started a new story. I think this one I can finish. It’s pretty intresting for me to write, and I have a lot of ideas that may be able to fill it up… So, I’ll finish chapter 1 and probably put it on fictionpress of Wattpad. I’ll put a link to it if I think that would be good. :) 3 months ago
