I have written several articles in newspapers in Mérida, Venezuela. But I have never written a book. I’m writing short stories and poems, but I’m constantly revising and correcting in the process.

My grandfather was a poet , but he didn’t manage to publish his poems…Now i am thinking of making a book with my grandpa’s poems accompanied by some texts that i will write and will be my thoughts on the things that my grandpa wrote these poems about (love, death, music etc)

I studied creative writing in college because I had wanted to be a novelist. I’m not that interested in writing fiction anymore, but I would love to write a metaphysical or self-help book. What topic? I have no idea. It’s kind of a remote goal for now as I work on starting a business. I’m doing a lot of writing for my website, so that might help me form a topic for a book eventually. This is one of my long-term goals, and I’ll be working toward it in the next five years.

I have always wanted to publish a book but never knew how or what I would write about. I am not the type of person that is grammatically correct, however, I do know how to express myself.
In 2004 my mind went racing with everything that was going on and went on in my life. I wrote over 90 poems in 90 days. After I received recognition from the White House, I was encouraged by my friends to have them published.
My first published book, “You Especially Smile 2 Give Others Direction” was self-published in 2004.
Until recently, it was being sold in hundreds of countries and well over 500,000 websites.

While I was on holiday. I’m figuring I can send them to the same publisher because they deal with both styles. I’m not sure about the fiction book, but I’m feeling pretty confident about the non fiction.

So, I started another kids novel. And I like it better than the last one. I am pretty much finished. It just needs final polishing up and then I need to pick some publishers that might be interested in that sort of story. Then, send it off! Oh, the anxiety surrounding it all…

I wrote two chick lit novels inspired by the LA Lakers in 2006. You can check them out at www.RachelBird.com. I don’t know why it took me so long to check off this goal. I self-published them on Lulu.com and people I don’t even know have purchased them. It has happened more than once that I have been stopped by someone I don’t know and told, “I really liked your book.” Amazing! But the most amazing part was the journey. I’ve learned so much, met so many people and am forever changed.

Nothing super fancy. I published my first article last year, and it kind of boosted my confidence a little. Then, my sister published a book…Not only am I very proud of her, but it inspired me. I thought, “You know, I am not the most talented or profound person around, but I have some interesting things to say, and an interesting way to say them.” If no one else finds it interesting, at least I have a couple of pre-sold copies (me, my sisters, my best friends). Hell, I might buy one for my dog. :P

i’ve been writing since a child and i’m not going to lie..i’m pretty good. my family, friends, teachers etc. have all encouraged me to write a book. and i was seriously considering it. i was working on a book with the support of my grandma (biggest supporter of my dreams) but unfortunatly i had put it on hold when she died of unexpected circumstances. since then i haven’t been able to bring myself to keep going. and worst of all, all my work was lost when we moved and our computer crashed. So now i’m considering writing a new one. in honor for my grandma. who i know will lecture me in heaven if i don’t lol
