i have sent in a form to volunteer at the hospital, I am hoping to hear back soon!
How to volunteer at the hospital
How I did it: Just contacted my local women's hospital and have been volunteering there for about a year now, I'm going to have to stop soon as my school-work and work-work has increased alot and I have virtually NO time for anything else.

During the summer of 2007, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work in the OR at the VA medical center here in Phoenix. It was undoubtedly one of the best choices I’ve ever made for myself and I learned so much about what it takes to work in medicine—and that I really do want to be a physician.
Aside from doing tasks around like hospital, I was able to observe several surgeries that solidified my love of medicine, hospitals and doctors. Whenever I become distracted from my goal, I always have this amazing experience to look back on and remind myself what lies at the end of the road.
I would highly recommend an opportunity like this to anyone interested in medicine, nursing, etc.

i didn’t volunteer yet, but i did visit a friend in the hospital. and i liked the feeling of visiting with people, so i’ll hopefully get on this soon!
i got the second part of my tb test done the other day. didn’t pass out. haha. and i actually went in and got trained, and volunteered on my own for my first shift. yay!
i passed out. =( i feel lame. but i’ll be in the ER from 3:30-5:30 on tuesdays! but the tb test. =(
tb test on monday at 3:15.. =/ haha. and i’m pretty intent on working in the ER, so we’ll see if there’s a schedule i can work. yay!
i met with the volunteer coordinator at the hospital today. she gave me a pretty-depth interview, for which i was not prepared. oh well, i’ll probably get it anyways, no one says no to volunteers. but i dont know how my schedule’s gonna work out because i want to work in the ER, and they dont have very many openings. we’ll see. =)
