I should 4-7 times a week

Really, really need to shower more often. Twice a week isn’t enough. I at least wash my hair every day in my sink, if I have time to do that I should have time to quickly jump in the shower.
Idea! Set an alarm for the evening on my phone to have a shower. It sounds ridiculous to schedule such a trivial activity but I must start somewhere.
It really does sound gross…and i’m not a gross person. I’m clean. I’m just always going. PTA, running, boxing, cleaning, etc. Sometimes I just don’t have time in the day.
I managed to crack what makes me like having a shower: light.
If I shower early in the morning, or in the afternoon, when either the east-facing or west-facing bathrooms are lit the most, I’m totally a happy doggie. Showers are fun now!
My aim is to make showering at least every other day part of my schedule—and to start off I’m going to try the ‘two minute shower’, as outlined by Martin Gleeson.
1) Run the shower long enough to wet your body all over;
2) Stop the water and lather etc.
3) Start the shower again and rinse, and repeat if necessary.
I dunno, sounds crazy enough to work.
Yes, I am showering more and even shaving my legs and buffing my nails. For me that is an extreme makeover! I decided that a little time spent on myself doesn’t have to mean that I am vain and self-absorbed. It just means that I am making sure I am taking care of myself so that I can better take care of the other nine people I have to live with every day :)
What a goal, eh? Yeah, I know, it sounds gross even to me.
I like to shower every other day. That’s my goal. When I do shower I use really hot water and stay in there for about a half hour, so daily is just too drying.
So how often do I shower? Right now it’s about every 3-4 days. The problem is, when I do that, it takes forever to detangle my long hair, not to mention it does start to get greasy. Now, I rarely leave the house, so only my family has to suffer my grossness, and I DO showever whenever I plan to go out. It’s just that with eight kids it often gets put on the back burner like most everything I do for myself. So I put it off, then it has to wait a day, and sometimes another.
So there, I’ve confessed. And to this goal I’d also like to add that on non-shower days I still need to “get ready” as they say. I can frump around here like the stereotypical haggard housewife and that does nothing good for my psyche, so I guess I’d better go doll up now :)
