HI I LIKE TO DONATE MY BODY AFTER
How to donate my body to science
How I did it: I contacted these people:
www.anatomicgift.com
They sent me paperwork that included some formal Powers of Attorney that were signed by the adults in the family.
I returned them and waited. I was thrilled to find out that the Body has been accepted !
Now I have a nifty laminated card. :)
Hopefully, when I cross to Summerland, my wishes shall be honored.
Lessons & tips: Well you may want to discuss this with your family physician Before you do it. I got offered Cymbalta right after I did this, perhaps because these good folks contacted my Dr ? But I took the Cymbalta anyway because I have peripheral nerve damage and it had just been approved for that.
Also, not Everyone in the family is so hot on the Idea.
Like Mr. Bellewitch. He sort of has made noises to the effect that he is going to bury my Witchy ass in the Catholic Cemetery where his family is. I sure hope he is Joking...
People doing this are also doing these things:

…”give up” on this goal, but what really want is an “I no longer want to do this” button.
Two years ago the idea of my body being used after my death appealed to me. Being carved up by anatomy students was second best to being used for dog food, which was never going to happen, given the silly laws in place here in England.
These days, what happens to my body when I die, whenever that may be, doesn’t matter. I’ll be gone, I’ll have no clue what’s happening.
dsstraub est raviiiii d'avoir bien passé ses vacances mais ne veut pas rentrer!
Basically I have to be 18 to be able to do this…so three more months to go! I talked to my parents about it and they said go for it.
I’m doing this because i don’t believe in life after death and if part of me can help an other to go on living, then part of me will live on. Once your dead your dead your system breaks down and you are just left with a shell. So why not put it to some use to help others?
Hi subscribers there is saying “Life is like an ice cream enjoy it before it could melt” but i wish to say is life is not like an ice cream it’s like a stone and death is not an end of life donate your organs you will be alive even after your death.
“DEATH IS NOT AN END OF LIFE”
Thanks to the person who posted a comment with the website anatomicgifts.com, as i have just now requested my info packet! I personally see no reason to waste my body, and god knows, i think, that it’s pretty pointless for my family to spend beaucoup bucks burying me or cremating me. For WHAT? I mean, if they want to hold some kind of memorial service for me, fine, but they don’t need REMAINS. Ick. :)
Re usefulness, i have fond and appreciative memories of my anatomy/phyisiology class, and the kind gentleman who donated his body so i could see what REAL internal organs look like, and where they’re really located. You can’t quite grasp it from a book. Of course, as we all know, there are many other uses for our ex-bodies, and i’m ALL FOR this goal!
and I’ve done precisely nothing about this. Hence making it my personal challenge. I’ve given myself a week to make that all-important phone call.
Anyone in the UK who wishes to donate their body to medical science can do so through the Human Tissue Authority (who also deal with bone marrow and organ donation). The page with the appropriate information is:
http://www.hta.gov.uk/about_hta/donating_a_body_to_medical_science.cfm
Medical schools in the UK are very short on materials for their anatomy classes. We can’t have doctors and surgeons who have had to learn their anatomy from diagrams alone, so I’m going to do my bit to help.
Kudos to everyone who has already registered.
It’ll be the last thing I ever do, but one of the first to cross off my list. I’ve found out how, now all I need to do is call the med school and have them send me the forms.
