Default 3+ mile run. Felt great doing it but pushed too hard too
early, I guess. Felt horrible the rest of the day and the following day. Ugh.
Day 2 (W)
5 mile bike with GG. I must ride more often. The terror was back full force. So not fun.

Day 1 (Su)
5.5 mile family bike ride to Forestville and back with the chum on the BB42. That’s a lot of work, that long hill, even on a cold day.
And then I got sick with the usual attendant fatigue so the rest of the week was out.

I’m going to go ahead and post last week’s data because I’m sick again. Or something. I think sick. Maybe I have chronic fatigue syndrome. Or possibly swine flu except without the flu. Piglet flu? Anyway, I’m depressed and, as Minx so wisely put it, in the mood to give up on all my goals. Instead, let’s look back to last week, when I was only kind of sick.
Day 1 (Sa)
Ran a bit over 2 miles. Not sure. Failed to write down details.
Day 2 (Su)
The goal was to run for 30 minutes – which I did.
2.6 miles. so slow.
Day 3 (M)
Felt macho. Wondered if I could run at an 11 min/ mile pace. Ran the blueberry farm distance doing 11.03 min average. Felt pretty awesome.
And on Mon afternoon we got the flu shot, so felt a bit squinchy for the next 2 days. Did some vigorous raking on W but not sustained enough to really count.
Day 4 (Th)*
Ran again blueberry distance. Felt great. Heart rate not nearly as high this time.
Day 5 (F)
Family dinner. Swam a bit over 1/2 mile in the pool with the wetsuit. 18 minutes. Whee!

I have no idea what I did on week 15 for the rest of the week. The illness hit on Friday.
The next week I mostly was sick.
Tuesday short bike ride.
Wednesday night swimming with tri group.
A real 3 mile run on Thursday that knocked me out.
30 min trial brick on Saturday.
And the triathlon on Sunday.
This week has been a recovery week so far. Today is my first day back.
Friday – 3 1/2 mile run. No data as the hr monitor is officially dead.

Day 1 (M)
3.5 mile run. Whee!

These numbers tell me what I already know. I’m running very slowly. I like to think of it as preparing for the post-bike run.
Day 2 (W)
Rode bike to town to bike shop for her check up. 6 miles? 8?
45-50 minutes of open water swimming and an unfortunate period of interval training.
Day 3 (Th)
3.5 mile run. With intervals for the 2nd half. Wheeze. Wheeze.

Day 1 (T)
5 1/2 mile run. 1 hour, 5 minutes. I’ve got blisters!

Day 2 (W)
Probably less than an hour of open water swimming. 10 minute stretches and 1 minute breaks. Did some stroke work. Hope that helps the fingers.
Day 3 (Th)
30 minutes on the bike with GG on his bike. About 7 miles. Kind of stressful watching him bike and worrying he’s going to get hit by a car.
Evening swim. Somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4 mile. Stroke work. Must stop rotating.
Day 4 (F)
17.25 miles on the bike to Fulton Road and back.
About an hour and a half. Felt much stronger than 3 weeks ago on same ride. Did some interval training once to the flat bit.
Day 5 (Su)
Group brick training.
25 minutes non-stop swimming, transition (What did we learn today? To sit down when removing the wetsuit.), and 15 miles on the bike (1 hour, 29 minutes).
Cool.

Tomorrow is a tri group training up in Ukiah on the race site. So, though not sure what I’ll be doing, I’ll clearly be exercising.
Day 1 (M)
3 mile run. The first mile was with my new trainer, the chum, who rode his bike next to me. A bit more stopping and starting than I’d prefer but not too bad.

1 hour of open water swimming with the tri group. Intervals. Loathe that in swimming. I always feel like I’m going to drown in the 3rd set.
Day 3 (Th)
The default 3.5 mile run. I’m really working the run right now since my running still sucks! Trying to stay slow and within my target zone. Ugh.

Actually all of this run was in the zone until I decided to run string for the last 1/4 mile and sprint the last 100 meters. Oof.
Day 4 (F)
Wee bike ride. 35-40 minutes. Crappy day. Lots of traffic on the roads and I just felt off.
Day 5 (Sa)
3.5 mile run again. In the afternoon. Warm. Stomach didn’t appreciate lunch either – like a warm sour rock the whole way.

Took the bicycle-built-for-two to Sebastopol and back. With the chum. And on the way back, groceries including a 15 pound watermelon.
