Maybe since there are so many people that want to do this, we can all get together and play on the computer. What do you think?
I’ve tried going through the manuals but i get bored with them easily. I think it is important to play. I’ve tried playing online but seasoned players get annoyed when you don’t know what you’re doing.

My mother, father and grandmother taught me Contract Bridge when I was about 10 years old. They played a three-handed version and let me be the “dummy.” Soon I became their “fourth” for the real version. By the time I was 20, I’d reached the Master level in the American Contract Bridge League, playing Duplicate Bridge in tournaments. I think most of my senior year in college was spent at the bridge table, and I even earned money playing for a penny a point. I participated a few times in leagues in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, but without a regular partner, I lost interest. This is something I’d consider doing again…socially not competitively.

My mom suggested I go over to the assisted living home to volunteer and see if anyone there will teach me. I think that’d be a lot of fun…I love older people!

My nonna will be so proud if next time I come visit her I not only bring a man who can play bridge (found one) but know how myself. Then we’d only need one other person to have a game. Seeing as how she lives in a retirement community, it shan’t be too difficult.
Besides, I love learning how to do things that are considered “dated.” If it entertained people before we had machines to do that for us, there must be something to it.

I think in order to learn how to play bridge you need a few things I don’t have. First of all, you need lots of free time for bridge learning. Secondly, you need three other people who want to learn to play bridge. People who already know how to play bridge don’t usually have a lot of patience for newbies, unless they’re related to you. Then they have to help.

I’m working through the ACBL “Learn to Play Bridge” computer program. So far, so good. I just have to stick with it.
