"Thrilling"

How I did it: When I was getting certified to become a scuba diver one of our practice dives was at the marine land tank.

(This was before they redid the tank when all the 2004 hurricanes came through)

I'm having an awesome time, the fish in the tank were beautiful. They had turtles bigger than me, and stingrays even bigger than that. It was SO amazing.
So we were swimming along and a 5 ft nurse shark was just stopped moving and was sitting there. So i was like "DUDE I WANT TO TOUCH A SHARK!!"
as scared as I was and as stupid as it was a move, I reached out and rubbed my hand over its fin.... it was rough. I felt like there was a kick drum in my chest. my heart was beating so fast and my eyes must've been the size of the planet through my mask.

& then as soon as it was there it slid off into the traffic of the other fish.


The stingray was like my little buddy though he was huge!!!!! and you just float along with them.
Their skin is all slimy-ish. its the coolest feeling.

    Did this at Sea World in Orlando last summer. It was only a little one so not too scary! Their skin is a bit rough which surprised me, I thought it would be smooth and kind of slimy like a fish skin? There was a whole group of us that went on a behind the scenes tour round the shark area, and it was interesting. I wouldn’t have the guts to swim with them (don’t like being underwater) but petting one in a small tank worked out ok.
