I have to say hats is my favorite to do. Mainly the newsboy caps.
How to crochet a hat
How I did it: I used Threadbanger's pattern. It was the only one I understood. Seriously. They deserve to be advertised. Other than that, I bought yarn and a crochet hook. Is this 150 characters yet?

It turned out even cuter than I imagined! I didn’t really use a pattern, I just looked at a bunch of them on the internet and then sort of made it up as I went along. Here it is in it’s final stages.
I have part of a hat done, but I don’t think it’s a good size/shape. It’s for a friend’s baby, but it’s the first hat I’ve ever made for a real person, and I don’t know if it’s going to turn out right. I don’t even know the name of the stitch I’m using. :/

I made a couple of different styles out of different yarns, with matching scarves – I really enjoyed being able to customize each one to fit different moods and coordinate with different coats.
I wear my hat around all the time, and have even gotten several compliments on it. I’ve even made a few hats for some of the people who loved it, and they have told me they’ve gotten compliments as well.
I want to make a bunch and sell them at an upcoming street festival or something!
This was done with some left over wool (all sorts of lengths and widths) as part of the Knitting for Mogolian Children Program. Took about 3 hours, body done in double crochet and flower and leaves done in double crochet and single treble, 5.5m hook.
hats are great. :) I made a couple to give away and one for myself. They are great gifts for winter. :)

I was so proud of myself once I finished, it turned out really nice. I’m probably going to give it to charity. found some patterns online for other ones I want to make too.
