I spent all yesterday afternoon making Christmas cookies. First I made plain sugar cookies with half of them marbled in red. Also, some thumbprints and I used the raspberry jam my brother-in-law made last summer. Finally, my favorite, Mexican wedding cookies or nut balls or whatever your family calls them.
Then we packed some up and took them to our cookie exchange but I kept some for us, too. And we got to bring some other kinds home! 4 months ago

Once again, yesterday I felt the need for something sweet so I decided on these white chocolate oatmeal brownies with white chocolate oatmeal cookie dough frosting. Yeah, I meant to type all that. They are sinful. 7 months ago

I made some snickerdoodles yesterday for Sophie’s student council bake sale. The student council made a lot of money to help fund their after-school clubs in the spring and we got a lot of homemade cookies! 16 months ago

How could I forget Christmas cookies!
This season, I only made 2 different kinds: chocolate crinkles and some cranberry-orange cookies. But that was enough because we got so many cookies from so many other places. It’s been pretty sugary around here this month! 16 months ago

Grace was here all afternoon yesterday and the 2 girls came up with the idea to make cookies. I helped them with the mixing and then left them to watch the time when batches were in the oven. “MOM!” they’d scream when cookies were burning. Nice.

Then, each with cookies in her little hand, they exited the kitchen, after observing how much of a mess cookie baking creates. Yeah, don’t I know it! I’m the one who has to clean up! 21 months ago

Jodi made fun of me for using the oven in the middle of the heat of the day but if I didn’t let myself get hot sometimes, I’d never get anything done!
Then, late in the afternoon, I decide I’m finished working for the day and I take a shower and I tell everyone I’m not sweating anymore today!

Thursday night was a baccalaureate service at our church for the seniors graduating from high school this year…so I made some cut-out stars and iced them in purple and gold, school colors. Shoot for the Stars, Class of 2011!

Because Sophie’s been asking for them. So I started on them about 15 minutes before they were due home from school and a batch was ready when they walked in the door.

I had wanted to use the new recipe someone posted as a comment the last time I made chocolate chip…but when I tried to find it I realized it’s been deleted and I can’t remember who posted it. I can’t imagine why you’d delete a recipe unless it was during the great fiasco some are calling Buttongate. Too bad. I wonder how much else was hastily lost during all that…

No matter though as the cookies turned out better than usual anyway. Even Sophie and Will said so. 2 years ago
