It’s actually a thing I wanna do everytime when I’m home …. so let’s see if I can make it !!
How to watch the sunrise on the beach
How I did it: It was about 4:30AM. I was in a little bus with a few other backpackers driving north up the spine of Vietnam. We passed through the former DMZ and the city of Danang and it was as we emerged from that city that we passed a beach that was just being illuminated by the amber light of the sun dragging itself out of the only cloud on the horizon. We pulled over and walked down to the beach. We stayed there staring for about 15 minutes until we returned slowly to the little bus feeling a bit strange. We knew we had just seen something so magical that we could never accurately describe it to anyone else.
Lessons & tips: So I took some photos of it but it doesn't convey what it was like to really be there and have your whole field of vision taken up with such astonishing beauty, to feel the sea breeze in your hair, hear the surf hissing in the distance and sense the awe among the people there. I took three photos as the sun was at various stages of rising and then stiched them all together so that it almost looks like I long sky with three suns rising. The thumbnail for that is on the left and you can click to see the full image.

I’m going to the beach for spring break! With any luck the beach will be uncrowded and I’ll be able to watch that sunrise.

and had breakfast on the beach. I watched the sunrise and just enjoyed the peace and calmness there. So great, I fell asleep for awhile!
Was in the Whitsunday Islands in Aussie with a heap of sand fleas! AHH! Wouldnt have bee much more enjoyable without these fellas!
It’s sound easy but not easy as it sounds. First, I don’t live nearby the beach. So, I have to plan my vacation. Second, even if I do, wake up early in the morning to be at beach is challenging to me…
Its funny how I’ve lived in a beach town for nearly 3 years, and I’ve never gotten around to seeing the sunrise on the beach. But when I went to LA last summer, I saw the sunset there. Its weird how you never get around to doing the things that are so easy to do.
This shall be my goal for this summer.
I would not trade that time in my life for anything. When i went to Ringling Art School in Sarasota Fl-I basically spent five years on the beach. The sunrise over the water is truly a magnificent sight.
Spend an hour or so watching the sun rise at Bethany Beach, Delaware. Pack banana bread and a thermos full of coffee.
