"Owning a dachshund has had it's ups and downs but I would not trade him for the world."

How I did it: I have always wanted a Dachshund. When my friend in Florida decided to breed her little mini I got first pick of the puppies. That's how I got my Captain Jack Sparrow. He is the strangest Dachshund I have ever seen but he is beautiful and full of energy and best of all all he cost me was a week in Florida with friends LOL

Lessons & tips: Find a good breeder since Dachshunds are prone to back trouble and Tracheal Collapse (my Doxie has this, very common in small breeds though). And be willing to be patient with them. Doxies are very energetic and VERY stubborn when it comes to training.

    Here's my baby! 2 years ago

    I’ve been wanting my very own Dachshund for as long as I could remember!! My boy finally made that wish come true this year for our 3 yr anniv.

    Dachshunds are very smart and clever dogs. They have one of the best noses too since their breed is meant for hunting. They are very stubborn though, so you need a lot of patience while training them so I’ve learned!
