I’m figuring out how to get into the business. :]
How to illustrate
It made me
very very very happy 
"there's nothing more enjoyable than the duscipline of sitting down and drawing to a theme or a brief"
How I did it: i have been attending a one day per week illustration course at LCC in London to make sure that I actually do the work. the other students are so valuable as they come with competely different ideas about how to interpret the briefs which make the works so much more interesting and is very inspirational. having other people around you to crit your work is very worthwhile
Lessons & tips: somehow make time to do it. it's so rewarding. listen to your favourite music, zone out and start drawing

Turns out they weren’t ready for me after all and that they’re probably not going to call on me until early next semester.

The Thursday after this, I’m supposed to go into the literary magazine meeting and choose a poem to illustrate. I hope I don’t let anyone down.

Lucky for me, my school is making a literary magazine, and have requested that I illustrate it. I really am very excited about it, but I’m not going to call it done until I start working on it.
