Moose and I have been talking about doing this for a few years now. It was one of those things that I had always wanted to do, but never thought I could. It was one of those things that when I thought “What’s stopping me?” it really hit me. I realized, we have two cars, we have jobs that allow us to take vacations, we have several friends we could visit with along the way, there really is nothing stopping us.

How I did it: We picked up our free maps from AAA and planned a general route. We made sure to go through Wilkerson Pass in Colorado due to our name. Each night we reserved a hotel for the following night using Paypal and we received some great deals! This was a photo journey, so I took my Nikon D90 camera with me, and clicked away while my husband drove. The best views were around Sedona, AZ, and the Grand Canyon, although Utah and C… Read how I did it…

How I did it: Packed the trunk, picked up my cousins, and hit the road. There was no science to it. We departed from NYC and arrived in LA. Walking across country is the challenge. Read how I did it…

... and I really want to take it all the way west!
I got a definite yes from my friend from back home, he will be making the trip with me, which will make the experience so much better. Now we’ll see if he actually goes back to NJ once he’s gotten to the left coast.
I’ll be heading across country starting on Dec. 31. I want to time it so I can have two New Years (one in EST, one CST) in Tennessee, then make stops in Arkansas, Texas, Albuquerque, Las Vegas, three weeks in San Diego, then finally move to Fallon, NV. I’m hoping that a friend of mine from home will go with me and fly back, or a friend in San Diego will fly out here and drive back with me. This is one time I’m glad I’m in the military and have a reason to do this while getting paid for it.

i wanna experience and visit so many NZ places
going on road trips! They are the best way to see as much as possible! I’ve only flown a couple of times, and it was fun, but I enjoy driving to my destinations because of all of the fun stuff you get to see on your way there. All the states that I’ve driven through (in the order in whichever one pops into my head first): California, Washington, Idaho, Montana, N. Dakota, S. Dakota, Wyoming, Nevada, Arizona, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Virginia, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland/ DC, and Hawaii….(also Canada- Victoria, and we crossed the border when we saw Niagara Falls).
Definitely worth it, just because you are able to see all of the beautiful scenery and visit local towns that you pass through, learn its history, and it’s just a great way to get to know whoever you’re going with that much better!
