The broken, bent, dusty old white metal blinds are no more! The new 2” wooden blinds arrived Thursday afternoon and Paco and I put them up that night: we both love them! 2 weeks ago

got rid of the stained old sofa and the leather club chair that had been nibbled by dogs! Replaced them with a gorgeous sofa + love seat I found on Craigslist! Next is new blinds and drapes for the living-room window :) 4 weeks ago

I was inspired by little_terry’s post! Yesterday afternoon (after the day had cooled off a bit) I scraped, cleaned and painted the one window and surrounding area I didn’t paint last summer (as the boxy air-conditioner was in the way). 10 months ago

pruned several bushes, re-routed the fence behind the poplar and then cleaned up all around it. Tore down some ivy and potato vine. 10 months ago

to motivate some “ninja” house cleaning. (I still miss CrazyinaGoodway.) Paco mowed, edged, raked, weeded and otherwise got both the front and back yard into amazing shape. I deep-cleaned the bathroom, cleaned the kitchen, the little hallway shelves, and cleaned/polished the living-room. Recycled a big stack of old magazines/papers. I showed Paco the picture of the breakfast-nook-bench and he loved it! Now to get that project moving forward :) 12 months ago

northern huckleberry, moneywort, bunchberry, brunnera. The other native plants in that same corner of the garden are doing famously! So decided to continue the theme :) The Dr. Van Fleet climbing rose (tiny start) and the elderberry both came back after the winter, yay! Max accidentally broke off a small branch of the daphne odora while stomping in the garden. Yesterday we put a paving stone in his favorite spot so he knows where it’s safe to stand now. And the paving stone is from the class-room project of last year for the auction so Max helped make it: bonus! 12 months ago

I actually finished painting the bedroom before Paco came home from Mexico. The blinds arrived yesterday and Paco installed them, yay! Donated more things to Goodwill which made a little room in the closet. 15 months ago

Painted the north wall in the bedroom last night after work. I need to move the huge bed to paint the remaining two walls; that’ll have to wait for the weekend! Looking for some nice blinds. I want to replace the blinds in both our bedroom and in Max’s room. Cleaned and polished the bookshelf, the bureau and all the switch-plates :) 16 months ago

Passed on many boxes worth of toys, puzzles, clothes and a toy-shelf that Max had outgrown to some new friends. Then re-arranged the furniture in Max’s room, put up some new sparkly lights and voila! Max immediately started spending lots of time in his room! He uses the lycra swing, he cuddles in his “nest” of bed pillows and he lays on the carpet looking at books!! Hurray! 16 months ago

the east side of the house is 95% done. I still need to paint a small bit where our bedroom window is. My beautiful husband that I deeply love got one of those boxy in-window air conditioners for free from a friend of his; I will either spatter TSP cleaner and/or paint on it and the window the way it is now. It’s September and the air-conditioner will be coming down in a day or two; decided to just wait and paint that window area later. The last wall to paint is the southern wall. It needs some scraping, patching and crack-filling before painting. I promised not to work on it today :) 20 months ago

hanging up new artwork. Finished painting another portion of the back part of the house. It is taking me 3-4 hours to do a 6’ portion: gutters are yucky, painting window trim takes extra and there are some places that need cement repair. But when that 6’ portion is finished it looks amazing! 22 months ago

above the mantel, cleaned the wall. Hung up the three new things that just came back from the framers (Dave & Tim live show poster, chinese market photo, TC 6th grade tree artwork). Dusted the two masks from Venice (given to us by my parents from one of their trips) and re-hung those. Just a smallish spot on the left to finish! 22 months ago

I did actually finish painting the front of the house last fall. Yesterday started on the back (east-facing) side of the house. Weeded next to the foundation, cleaned with TSP (including downspout and gutters) and got a 5’ stretch painted both wall and trim. Sunny and fine today; more will be accomplished! 23 months ago

I got rid of some old papers from my Elementary School!

Can you believe I had papers from my Elementary School?
And I was still sad about tossing them out…

I found an old paper with doodles about my high-school boyfriend.
I didn’t throw that one out just yet.
