They just lowered the number of hours needed from 3,600 to 3,000. With that being said, I’m about halfway there. Well, just under halfway. It’s been a long haul, but I’m sticking to it. This is the LAST thing, at least that’s what I keep telling myself. I already passed the test before the new change, so all I need are my hours…

and I’m not paying for it!!! It’s pretty good so far, the person supervising doesn’t want to just sign off on supervision, he has actually set aside 2 hours a week to sit and look at my cases. What a pain in the ass :) Seriously, it is good and I’m able to work on my listening skills and find that he has a lot of good insight and is finding angles that I didn’t look at with my clients. Of course, it’s only been 2 hours, I’ll see how I feel after 3,600.
Only 3,580 hours to go!
More money, that’s what it’s going to cost me to get supervision. Ugh, didn’t I just pay 60K (or about to start paying) for the degree?
I sifted through all the requirements needed to get my supervision and I’ve made a couple contacts with people who can supply the much-needed supervision. The downfall, $45 an hour and I need two hours a week which totals $90 a week. YIKES!!! So I’m going to see if perhaps my work can help out with this. I really hope so.
I took the LCSW before the law change and passed. So I’m an LSW and as soon as I acquire enough clinical hours they will simply HAND me my ‘C’ and I will be an LCSW !!!!!
Okay, I just barely passed the test. I took it the day before the new law started. So I am officially a LSW and just need to collect my hours and they’ll simply GIVE me my ‘C’ !!!! The downer is that in PA you need a 70 to pass, but in some other states you need a 75 to pass. So if I happen to move to, say NY, I would need to retake the test. I’m not worrying about that now, I’ll just make sure I only move to a state that requires a 70 :)
I take the test on 5/10, right before the new requirements start. This ought to be fun…
