tongue piercing

Well, I got my tongue pierced about…7 hours ago now…and wow. Got home, took Ibuprofen and sucked on ice for an hour, and the swelling went down almost immediately. If I tense my tongue up, it still hurts…and I haven’t eaten anything yet. I’d kill for a bowl of cereal.

I know about people having problems with infections, but I wasn’t scared in the least. Afterwards, my leg was trembling like crazy, but other than that, I haven’t had any issues.

I think everyone who’s worried about pain, swelling, or infection just needs to calm down. The piercing doesn’t hurt, afterwards it feels more like you’ve burnt you tongue on hot coffee. Swelling won’t really last a whole week…normally. Ice and Ibuprofen, like I said. And infection? Not gonna happen if you make sure to follow all of the aftercare instructions. ^_

It hurt like hell gettin it done and the swelling was bad for a few days an i couldnt eat but ive had it done 2 weeks now and its well worth it id recommend to anyone if your willin to go through the pain for a little bit!

well i got it done yesterday as well as my eyebrow aand helix ( middle off ear) and it didnt hurt getting it done, but it does now it has swelled up and i cant eat and im gutted cus i love ma food lol but i heard swelling goes down in a week fingers crossed it goes down quicker thn that cus im fading away im soooo hungry lol

I am currently thinking about getting my toungue pierced but i work as a waitress which mean i would have to take time off work for it to heal but i have looked all over the internet and no where says how long it is swollen for. Cn anyone possibly let me know how long it is swollen for on average…

ive always wanted my tounge and i got it done yesterday, tbh i dont regret it but the pain im in its awful! i cant even drink or take any tablets. i aint eaten since saturday and im starving :( Lol

I’ve had my tongue pierced for over 2 years now, and even though it seemed like a good impulsive at the time, I dont recommend it to other people.
Sure, it looks kool and I like it, but the pain I went through and the fear that it could get infected, and the fact that mine has ripped doesnt seem that Kool anymore.
Also, Im an actress, and my tutor told me that it was about idea to do it as my tongue will never be the same, especially when it comes to training my mouth for projection etc.

uh i got mine done bout a week ago. it wasnt sore at all and i think its healing reallly good. i was eating the moment i stepped outta the shop. anyways it is starting to get a little pus in it and it is sinking int my tounge. is my tounge gonna go back to normal and the ball sit ontop of my tounge like it should. will the now crater little sloop go away that the ball sits in??

i got my tongue pierced bout two months ago now, and to be honest i was totally scared bout the pain, but i didnt feel anything it was over in 2 minutes, my tongue did swell but it went down rather quickly, i did struggle to eat for bout a week, but after that i just used to it, ive was asked back to my piercers every 2 weeks for the first month, and then i went back and got a new bar. but its all great! n i dont regret a thing!! any questions feel free to ask??

i’m 18 and i wanted it done for ages,i got mine done yesterday and the bar seems massive! when i tried to eat the bar seems to get in the way and its like your chomping on the bar. but it didnt seem like it had swelled up, then i went to bed and got up the next day and it looked and felt like i had as it was really quite sore and it felt like someone nipping my tongue! was anyone elses like this as i phoned up the piercing guy and he said it was normal. write back please thanx alot! xxxxx
