Happy Birthday to my 43things friend. There are many things I admire about you and the everyday things you celebrate from gardening to new fitness adventures, reading, planning parties for the chum and doing other special things for your family. Your goals reflect honestly the actions you take and the way you live your life. They are truly inspired and inspirational. I thank you for visiting me in Japan…you are now one of the few people who can understand my memories of Japan and the places we visited. And I thank you for the thoughtful messages and gifts you send…You are a true and constant friend, online and off. She’s still two years out from turning 43 but she’s already completed one of the 43 things on her list to complete before that special birthday. I didn’t start my list until I had a year left to go, so she’s definitely shown that she’s thinking ahead. I’m really excited to watch as she works on accomplishing things too, especially the running goals and triathalons. I wish I had someplace that I could practice swimming so that I could work on that too. I wonder how much a lap pool would cost. And because she doesn’t think anyone knows where her city is, let me say for the record that I know where it’s at because I drove by it on my way to visit a friend in Healdsburg over a decade ago. Here are my wishes for her for the coming year:

May you make finishing a will a priority for Chum’s sake. May you continue to exercise six times a week and eat right, both of which will help you get back to your pre-pregnancy weight. And may you revisit every piece of lingerie that you own, possibly on those date nights with your husband. 3 years ago
