Form an artists' salon

doing this would be both insane and probably very good for me and other artists around …

but how? just invite strangers here into my home?

This is a great idea, so much so that I’m completely stealing it. So many people in London are beavering away at their own projects, we need more sharing! I’m going to try to set up a night for people to get together, share ideas, share skills, theatre people, art people, university people, writing people, news people.

COME TO DAVID BURKE AT BLOOMINGDALE’S ON WEDNESDAY NIGHTS (YOU’LL HAVE TO GET THERE BEFORE 9PM IN ORDER TO APPRECIATE THE BUSINESS RIGHT NOW) AND CHILL AND HANG OUT!! 59TH BTW LEX AND 3RD.

allright. i sent out emails to my writing friends this morning to form a writing group and my immediate 24 hour response (all positive) is 5 out of 7 or 8 initial emails. This is great. Yea for just doing it. I hope that all of these people decide to do it for real, because I admire all of their different writing talents and I think that it would be a strong and talented group. We all do have power unknown to us.

i’ve been trying this out here in new york. i have created the nina’s networking night at my bar on monday nights. it has been pretty successful in bringing people in. every monday is different. there is always some kind of debate or banter. we’ve covered prostitution, the proper forms of debate, bronxville vs. new rochelle, what play our investors should invest in next and who should direct it, what bar is a good investment, business ethics, who’s god is right…i hope that monday isn’t the last of these, but it sadly may be until i can relocate to a different bar…so sad juniper, so sad. sniffle.

I want to bring together people of different, but exceptional talents and intellect to meet each other and form an artistic revolution.
