Actually read the books I get from the library

I’m going to put this goal on hold for a while. Not that I don’t think it’s a worthy goal, just that recently I haven’t had the time to sit and read anything. I was improving, so that out of ten library books I’d check out, I’d have read four of them. Hopefully when I get some more free time, I’ll be able to do some more reading.

This goal just isn’t for me. I’m a bad, bad library user. Oh well, it’s my only fault lol (that was sarcastic by the way ;) )

Finished reading 2010: Odyssey Two by Arthur C. Clarke this afternoon during my break period. One down, two dozen more to go…

I’m currently trying to plough my way through a book on Polish history (politics really). I borrowed this book from the library a YEAR ago – because at the time I was in deeply love with a guy who is half polish, and passionate about recording the wartime history of the polish people before it is lost forever. I wanted to understand it all, so that I could understand him better! Well, he’s gone from my life now but the book remains!! And I WILL finish it because I did really love him.

Well I went to the library today and took back my shockingly overdue books. Why do I find it so hard to just return them on time? I swear one day I’ll go there and they’ll say, “nope sorry, you’re the naughty girl who doesn’t return her books on time”. Thank goodness my library doesn’t have overdue fees!

Anyway, I got a nice little collection of books for over the holidays. And this time I’m aiming to read them all, and return them ON TIME! I always get so excited when I borrow books, I just don’t understand why I lose enthusiasm when it comes to actually reading them. Hmmm, oh well I’ll see how I go.

I always get SO excited when I go to the library and pile up heaps of books which I never get through! However, while I’ve got some spare time, i’m going to finish what I’ve started. Then I’m only going to get out a couple of books and actually try and read them and return them on time.
