Following the first things first rule.
And it is working ! :)
Getting my chores done before I go on a TV watching spree or fiddling around the net.
It is less stressful n guilt free tht way.

Today I made especially good use of my time:
- very efficiently using a busy-busy-busy five-hour period of time the first thing in the morning
- taking positive actions on several different projects during the last five hours of the day
Good Me! grin

Today I made especially good use of my time. The first two hours of the morning were a very full & efficiently used period of time on one project & in the afternoon I made very positive use of a busy-busy-busy six-hour stretch.
Yay me! grin

that I did exceptionally well on this goal today, on a day that made me feel especially frazzled (back-to-back appointments & unexpected schedule changes make for a great deal of potential downtime).
I’m happy that I was able to accomplish a number of small but useful activities (phone calls, e-mail, updating files, & hallway catch-up chats) during the small chunks of time in between major tasks (presentations, meetings, & HR training) of the day.

as though somebody went to 43T & FlyLady to get ideas for this magazine’s list! Quite a bit of the commentary concerning items listed had a familiar ring to it, too. wry grin

the last two months have gone by in a flash & mostly smoothly, I must say smile—although the past two weeks have been pretty rough (stressy & busy) at work.
I think I need to pause & remind myself of “what works” in terms of planning for stress reduction and prioritizing for wise use of time.

On Monday & Tuesday, I tried leaving the house 15 minutes earlier than usual in order to run one errand before work each day. Although the errands did get done, it left me feeling rushed both mornings, as if I would be late (I wasn’t).
On Wednesday & Thursday, I tried the strategy of running one errand immediately after work each day. Although the errands did get done, it left me feeling really tired by the time I got home both evenings.
I guess I’ll think it over some more & try some additional options before I give up & fall back into my old mode of just not getting things done…. wry grin

On Monday & Tuesday, I tried doing errands for an hour after work before coming home; on Wednesday & Thursday (today), I tried coming home from work & taking a nap before going back out later.
M&T’s payoff was getting things done – but feeling exhausted on Wednesday as a result. W&T’s payoff was feeling more rested – but having a lot of trouble yesterday in becoming alert enough to go back out after my nap (although I eventually did) & today I didn’t get back up in time to get any of my errands done (the stores were closed by the time I got up from my nap).
I guess it’s a toss-up, then, which works better for me: it would be more accurate to say that neither option worked particularly well. wry grin
Ideas, friends? Please share them with me! Thanks. smile
