How to volunteer for planned parenthood by Amy

"Excellent organization to volunteer for."

How I did it: Went to the website and looked at the long list of volunteer opportunities.  Went to the orientation, had some pizza, and signed up!  I've staffed events, helped with fundraising, did some election phonebanking, and help escort people past the protesters.  I might become a recovery room volunteer or a procedure room volunteer, or get more involved as a counselor in the future. 

Lessons & tips: Go for it!  Do it!

    I miss it 3 years ago

    When I graduated college and was unemployed, I spent a year volunteering and then working for Planned Parenthood at their surgical center. I loved it and I miss it—I was also told that I was very good at what I did (patient advocacy). I can always spare a Saturday morning and I would love to help.
