when i went there, apparently. Yeah it had to have been because of the traffic getting home. Their calendar only has a morning class for Fridays so that is probably why they were closed. I’ll have to go Mon-Thurs after work. They should open by 6pm.

I actually DID go to the Tai Chi studio that evening to check it out, but they weren’t open! It’s a very pretty and quaint area, and there are flowers all around the outside. The blinds were all drawn and I couldn’t see inside. I will check their hours again to see when they are open, and try again maybe next week or something.
I have talked to the guy who owns the place on the phone and he was nice and seemed to know what he was talking about.
I could pay by the week, but it would not be cost effective. So I will wait until January, as I don’t have enough money for, well, anything right now. Christmas is coming so the money shouldn’t be a problem then.

despite my forgetting that I put this on my 43, I have actually been working toward this. I found a few places where I can take classes, but I don’t have the money. The one place, which is a specifically tai chi studio, has classes that just started yesterday and they start again in January. I might do that if it’s not too much of a drive. I’m going there tonight to check out the place and at least see if I like it. The other guy, Master FaXiang Hou (qigongresearchsociety.com) classes started a while ago and don’t start again until the spring. I’m going to keep looking around. http://www.worldtaichiday.org listed some more local places, I think.
Oh, also found http://www.qi-journal.com that has some useful information and good articles.

taking a class RIGHT NOW. It is invigorating like nothing else, but the malaise that follows (from sifted shoved off stagnant chi) is quite a hangover.

there is a centre downtown that offers free qi gong classes once a week, and honestly i have no excuse to not attend. i am interested in so many aspects of spirituality, and practice meditation and yoga as is, so i would love to experience qi gong and see if i can fit it into my spiritual practice. i would like to attend at least one class in the coming month.

Qigong is simply put, the manipulation of Qi, pronouced Chi, anyone can do it, all you need to do is focus on your energy flowing through meridians to chakras which are the points where you want it to go, then release, use it to strengthen yourself, or even in my goal, punch people without making contact. The Discipline I am working on it called the Sunlight Hands.

That is postponing study with a master of this art. I will still pursue my own thing.

Better harmony, strength, health, peace, power, patience, and perseverance for starters. :-)

Interesting, not what I expected. Now to the other goals “finish what I start” ... need to practice!!! I think it would take 2-3 months minimum of Qi Gong to actually get a feel for it (and whether there’s anything really there)
