How to clean my keyboard
It made me
amazed 
"Nice to have a white, more efficient keyboard again!"
How I did it: I didn't think my keyboard was that dirty, it just looked like the fronts of the keys were a little grey. To clean it, I usually just tip it upside down now and then to let the crumbs and dust fall out, and give it a little wipe over with a cloth.....a few days ago, however, I spilt some yogurt on it, so I took off the few keys it landed on to clean it up. I noticed it was quite dirty underneath, so ended up taking all the keys off....and my, my - it was very dirt filled indeed. I didn't realise it could get so dirty. No wonder some of the keys kept getting stuck.
After having gotten rid of all that dirt and putting the keys back, I had a much more co-operative set of keys!
Lessons & tips:
- Remove the keys gently one at a time with a screwdriver, placing them in the correct order in front of you, so you remember where each one went
- Use a wipe or damp cloth to wipe away the grime underneath, as well as the keys themselves, and use a cotton bud to get in between the little nooks and crannies
- Replace the keys
- And voilà! - a much healthier home for your keys

That? Was disgusting. Really, really disgusting. Yuck. It’s all clean now though. I shook it, popped off the keys, vacuumed it, and then cleaned it thoroughly with q-tips and some alcohol. And then I wiped off the keys before putting them back on. Good on me.

I did this…a couple of months ago? (My cat spilled my tea all over my desk and into my keyboard. Not a happy accident for myself, my cat, or my keyboard.)
However, when you have a herd of cats and you have a bad habit of eating toast while looking at webpages…well, your keyboard tends to get a bit dirty. So, I’ll be doing this again pretty soon.
I’ll probably go the whole way and pop off the keys, but I don’t know. I did that with the number pad when I cleaned it last and even that alone was a pain.

How do you clean a laptop keyboard?

I have two cats and an embarrassingly large amount of their hair has crept under the the keys of my iBook. I tried blowing it out with compressed air, but that didn’t work (although it did dislodge a bunch of other general grunge).
I’m afraid to pop the keys off because a) I don’t know if they’re actually supposed to come off and b) even if they are removable, I don’t know if I’ll be able to get them back on.
