Off to join the local gym on payday (Tuesday). I’m going to a cheaper, slightly nearer one that I avoided originally, but since it IS cheaper, it IS nearer and I can get access into the clubs right across the company (brilliant since there’s two opening soon right by my places of work so I can go when I’m not at home!), it’s a bit of a no-brainer.
Need to buy some tracky pants and a sports bra so I’ll get on that after work tomorrow. Already got my trainers (wooo, Shapers!) and I’ve stocked up on meal replacement shakes for the next week or so.
My goal dress size, overall, is a UK10. I’m back hovering between a 16 and an 18, I’d say, so I’ve got a long way to go. Working to Australian sizes makes it a bit more confusing (I still have NO CLUE what size I actually am over here – it’s different in every store!), so I do have a number of kilos in mind and I think that means I’m aiming for an Aussie 12 but either way, I brought some smaller UK clothes over with me to use.
I think the thing is that people do put a lot of emphasis onto the numbers, the actual weight you are and so forth, but I think you have to be happy and comfortable first and then you can work on the rest of it. So if I can get to a UK 10/12, then I’ll be happy to jump on the scales and work out how my BMI is looking. Any weight loss, in my case, is good weight loss, as it’s bringing me closer to that safe zone, but for now I’m going to try not to think about it.
I’ll weigh myself once a week, just so I know things are shifting, even if my clothes aren’t! 9 months ago

Back on the shakes after a few dodgy (shakey? haha) weeks. I’m joining a gym this week (having two jobs means I can afford it and I will bally well MAKE time to go, particularly if I can find a cheap 24 hour one for the weekends, when trains and buses run all night) and I’ve stuck a photo of the absolutely gorgeous Hayley Atwell on my mirror to spur me on.
Mood is good, it’s positive. Been drinking a lot of water anyway so I just need to couple it with exercise and get back on the healthy eating! 9 months ago

Well, I’m back in Brisbane. I lost a few kilos in Perth and my mum currently has me on a low carb diet with meal replacement shakes.
Not fun but hey, it’s working.
I’m swimming 10 lengths of the pool at day, at least and yeah. I’m really bally trying!
Bought a size 14 dress from Myer and it fits :D 13 months ago

Put on again over the last few weeks, just a kilo, but it’s still put me on a downer… yeah, I’m gonna blame Christmas!
Right back on it from tomorrow, especially as I’m moving to Perth in a couple of weeks!
Gym every morning, followed by an hour in the pool.
Only eating what my mum gives me again!
And no alcohol (very easy since I can’t spend a PENNY until I get to Perth on the 17th!)

Dropped at least a kilo in the last week, since starting eating whatever my mum puts in front of me (and only that!).
Oh, the joys of being fed again! 19 months ago

Feed me while in Oz. Low GI all the way!
Avoiding buying clothes so I dont get too comfortable in the sizes I am; finding out that Australian sizes are one up from ours is definitely a spur! I feel bigger, even though I’m not, because 16s are 18s over here.
Means I’m aiming for a 12/14 in their sizes for New Year.

I’m moving to Australia in two weeks.
If anything, the last two months have seen me gain weight. Still a 16, but I’m a lot further from the 14 I was (I can’t even wear my size 14 tops without looking a little like I’m trying too hard…).
Here’s hoping the move to a sunnier climate, with a healthier lifestyle will help me out.
Whatever happens, this is a chance for me start over with everything.
As always, That Size 12 Dress is coming with me, with the usual mantra of “I’ll be wearing that by the New Year…”
