How I did it: The big 8th grade trip for my junior high was always to Camp Kern this camp north of us that offers a high ropes course and zip line. In addition to having a disgusting case of homesickness everytime I seemed to leave my parents, I also had been gifted with a disgusting fear of heights. So when we made our first stop at Tango Tower I thought I was going to throw up my own stomach. For those of you who have the deep, deep fortune of never … Read how I did it…

Thanks to my parents, I got to experience this when I was in high school. They were going through some unique issues, and I certainly was enduring the typical teenage angst, so I wasn’t especially open to hanging out with my parents at a high ropes course initially. However, the experience ended up being among one of the more remarkable ones I’d ever have, and I still reflect on it fondly. The aspect of trust was deeply emphasized not just with others there, but with myself. It really made me get in touch with my fears, as I faced them with support from everyone there, which was reciprocated throughout the group!

I have done high ropes. And I feel a lot of pain. It was quite fun though, except for when my friend Dylan rocked some of the planks and such. That was particularly evil. The best course was the one with no harnesses cause it was just nets. That one freaked me out the least, oddly enough.
Feeling a lot of pain in ribs right now, although I’m not sure this is due to high ropes and more due to a couple of males of whom I shall not mention…although one already has anyway. :)

By way of sheer luck or something or rather, I am going to do high ropes for a friends 18th birthday party. :)
So I shall finally be able to check this goal off. Yay!

But my daughter challenged me, and we did it together.
The word “empowerment” is not one I use on a regular basis, but in this case it applies. I could not quite imagine myself walking and balancing so high up. I did not think I would make it, and would instead be dangling up there, the object of a rescue mission.
I discovered my balance held. I knew my daughter could do it – she can do anything.
jenuine happy holidays :)
I have a big fear of heights, but I did this anyway just for the thrill. It gives you adrenaline and makes you feel completely alive, and I loooove anything that gives you that feeling, like a rollercoaster or jetskiing or something. I encourage you to do it. When you get up there, you’ll be afraid but just remember that nothing can happen to you when you’re in a harness, so just go for it! You’ll be glad you did.

Several times, but the most rememberable one was at a young life camp in Colorado. I was scared to death, but it was worth it and I would regret it if I didn’t do it.
I did a ropes course class in college. It was really fun. I think it is one of those things you can walk away and talk about with pride.
:] OMG! It was so much fun! We were the first ones there too! I wasn’t scared of the heights I actually enjoy it…lol..I so want to do it again! Especially the zip line! [:
P.S: In the picture I am the red little blob…lol :P
...so I asked one of my friends if she wanted to go the rope course….and said yes! Its going to be so much fun tomorrow! :]
