study French again

Got myself a grammer and vocab book today so im on the road to getting mysel mult-lingual. wish me luck :)

I’m going to keep a related goal on my list, but am going to update it to something else now that my dedication to doing this seems to be firmly established.

I wrote in French for the first time since high school.
An email (That would make it my first email ever in French, as I didn’t even learn about email until I start university!).

I asked the receiver to correct what I wrote, and while there were several little mistakes, it didn’t go too bad!

and it is bringing out the ‘inner nerd’ in me.

Forget just going to class… I am watching French t.v. and reading French books (albeit slowly, with my dictionary…).

Perhaps it is also a reminder of more innocent times, when I was younger and studying French the first time around.

and class starts on Tuesday.

My boyfriend is talking of taking a course this fall… that should certainly help with my resolve to do the same (or at least put in the request on my ‘learning plan’ at work…).

once upon a itme, there was a girl who spent 2 weeks in france without speaking any english. that was a long time ago…now i want to refresh my memory so that i am once again able to converse and write competently. i have the lesson book and cd’s. surely it will eventually come back.
