Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

My experiment is going nicely.
I received seven cards so far, quite a score, huh?
Some of my cards still haven’t been registered though, which makes me a little impatient, because I can’t send any new ones till those are delivered :(
I bought a bunch of postcards and can’t send them out now… anyways, just a quick update as I received my last two today! 4 years ago

Little update!
I just received my first card today – it’s from Great Britain!
Whoo hoo! Anything from Europe makes me uberhappy!
Three of my cards already reached their destinations, and five more are still on the way!
I should have two more coming to me anytime now – I wonder where they’ll be from?
This goal is such a lovely spin off of the 43Flags goal!

Woot!
The first card received its destination!
A girl in Netherlands just reported getting it today – that means a card could possibly be on the way to me already!
I’m positively surprised by the fact it took only 7 days for it to get there, hopefully it won’t take to long for the rest!
I also picked some more postcards when we went grocery shopping – now, that I pay attention to them they are not that difficult to find.
Sending 2 more tomorrow! 4 years ago

Agasaurus RexDone!

Cards are on their way!
Now I just have to sit tight and wait, it will probably take some time before I get my first card… I feel accomplished though! 4 years ago

OK
I joined today.
That was the easy part – now I actually have to move myself to the Post Office and mail my cards out.
Without procrastinating, that’s right!
This goal is an offspring of a “43 flags” goal, I thought I’d love to receive cards from all those far away places, so here I am.
Starting from sending four cards to
Germany
Finland
Russia
and Netherlands.
I have them all ready and written, trip to PO will happen tomorrow the latest. WILL HAPPEN!
No procrastination damm it! 4 years ago
