I love to bake cookies. They’re perfect gifts cuz who doesn’t like cookies?
How I did it: Now that I don't have the 9-5 obligation to go to an office and do work with people who don't even appreciate my being there, I have time to catch up with the finer points of the simple life. Everyone loves a cookie, and it's fun to whip up a small batch of something sweet to nibble on.
Lessons & tips: There are a ton of cookie recipes that are incredibly easy to make, and even whole cookbooks and websites devoted to cookies. One of my favorites is "The Artful Cookie", even though the recipes are somewhat complicated and require some chilling and rolling. Our favorite so far is a salted chocolate chip cookie. We use pink Australian finishing salts sprinkled on top of each cookie to set off the sweet chocolate flavor.

I have been baking more in general, including cookies and cakes, so I am gonna call this one DONE! I have to say that the process of cooking has become more enjoyable the more I do it, and the homemade and healthier meals and snacks we are eating are almost just a positive side effect of the cooking process! I recommend making time for home cooking to everyone!
The other day I decided I wanted to bake some cookies … got all the ingredients together and made a double batch of chocolate chip cookies. After the second batch came out of the oven – I was tired of making them. Put the batter in a ziploc bag and now I have cookies whenever I like. Actually, last night my daughter asked me to bake some … how many do you want I asked and then 15 minutes later she had 4 hot cookies straight from the oven.
Yes, it has been too hot lately to do any baking, but I know that as soon as Autumn makes an appearance, I’ll be undertaking some cookie baking—and brownie baking and muffin baking and so on and so forth… :)
Made brownies a couple days ago. Not cookies, but pretty similar, and just as satisfying! YUM!

Baked some cookies on a whim yesterday, I had maple syrup that had started to ferment and the flavor was kind of beer-y… So I thought (hope this doesn’t sound too disgusting) that the syrup would probably be really really good in cookies :o)
I looked up a recipe for walnut cookies and instead of honey and coffee liquor I added the maple syrup. The cookies came out really nicely, they are sort of like shortbread but more moist, and have a very pleasant sweet flavor. I then added an amaretto glaze… ooooh, these are so good! Go ahead, drool a little ;o)
Right now I need to bake fewer cookies and more healthy meals!
Normally I am a very good cookie baker. The last batch turned out bad – I ate the rest of the dough.
