create a garden in front of my building

no, actually, even if i had the money & the resources to ‘dig in’ to this project right now (pun intended),,,,my plans would have been thwarted by the fact, unbeknownest to me, my landlord decided to tear into major repairs around the building, including stripping off the tarpaper off the whole bldg & >>>>>>>>>>>>>

i’ve bought alot of top soil & misc flower seed that do well in shade

i’ve saved coffee grounds all winter

i know where i can get lots of manure…

i asked my “Master Gardener” brother for strategic advice…

Now i just save up about $100 bucks, then put flyers to incite someone with major muscles for 1 day’s serious labour to dig out the rock bed of the space…

then i can begin planting my garden…!

5/4/2006:Small Update

i really wish i had the land time resources to do a complete japanese/english garden….but i have this little 3 foot by 12? foot space in front of my apartment house, that i’ve been strategizing to get growing all summer. Its tougher than i first thought—the soil is rock hard, it drains sloping toward the street, and its under about 90% shade. but i’m not daunted by the challenge…tw’ill just take more study, planning & probably sweat…
