    Ugh 10 months ago

    I almost completed Phase I without cheating, but I went out for dinner yesterday (no, NOT to celebrate Valentine’s Day!) and screwed up. And I had dinner at the in-laws’ today and it felt rude to refuse their food, so I had some potatoes and strawberries :(.

    I feel fat, blech.



    5th day 10 months ago

    I’m pumped! My 5th day without bad carbs :). I’m not feeling cranky or hungry, so yay!

    Dinner party tomorrow, let’s see how that goes.



    Day 2 10 months ago

    I ended up starting Phase I yesterday. I guess I needed that extra little push, and boy did I get it on Saturday. I saw what I looked like in the awful lighting and mirrors in the stores and I got so depressed. Nothing fits right and clothes feel extremely tight around my middle.

    I’m not fat, I just kinda let myself get into not-so-good habits, like not eating enough protein and not exercising at all.

    I’m peeing like crazy, by the way. I wonder if I’m getting rid of water weight?

    Off to do glute exercises!

    So I’ve had the South Beach Diet book for months now and learned a lot from it. There are some great recipes in it that I’ve tried.

    I’m curious as to what my body will do if I fully commit to the diet, so I can’t wait to try it out, even though eating omelettes for breakfast makes me slightly queasy.

    Today’s goal: make a list of Phase I foods I’m going to need.

    I’m feeling the post-Christmas bloat, best described as feeling like there’s not enough skin to go around the newly accumulated fat.
