get to know 5 new people

The last thing I would EVER have considered is having any type of “friendship” with any given member of the male human species right now. However, God rarely gives you what you want in lieu of what you need. I’ve gotten to know my second new person over in the process of hearing him talk about what he went through with his ex-wife. I got chills and told him so because he explained he EXACT mirror of what I’m currently going through; everything from to the stress over finances, and the anger at being saddled with all of the responsibility of the bills, to being a single parent, and the ensuing attempts to be strong. It was nice to simply talk to someone and not have to explain how you feel, or have to worry about trying to impress the other person, or worse still, have to worry about someone pretending to “be there for you” while jockeying for a position to be next in line.

or at least a walking “date” in the morning with one of the women in my neighborhood. I was riding my bike, and she called out to me and suggested that we go walking together sometimes. I told her I’d be on her doorstep at about 8:30 in the morning. The walking “path” we discussed was at least 3-4 miles long, which would be plenty of time to get to know each other, unless she wants to run, which I’m not opposed to.
