Saturday, October 31st, happened. The weather was terrible. But there we were anyway.

First, the zombies:
I was a Conehead Zombie.
Pat was a regular garden-variety zombie but we gave her a flag so she became the Flag Zombie.
Nigel was a Pole Vaulting Zombie.
Jared was a Newspaper Zombie.
Alex was a Balloon Zombie.

Then, the plants:
Inna was a Wall-Nut.
Gabby was a Blover.
Bea was an Umbrella Leaf.
Trixie was a Marigold.

That was it. So much for a flash mob. 55 people said they were going but 9 of us came. The weather may have something to do with it but I’m beginning to think that Manila is a loser when it comes to flash mobs. Don’t get me wrong, we had a lot of fun fooling around and taking pictures. But Manila just sucks when it comes to flash mobs.

Halloween is the perfect excuse to dress up in a costume and be silly. Several years ago, I dressed up as a shrimp, which is ironic considering I’m actually allergic to shrimps.

Then there was this year when me, my siblings and cousins dressed up as pirates. We stumbled around the village, pretending to be drunk on rum, singing the very few pirate songs we know.

Now, Halloween will be coming soon. We, the guys who dressed up as a band of pirates, planned to dress up as characters from the Pop Cap game Plants vs. Zombies because we simply cannot accept that you have to live in NYC to take part in the PvZ parade. Then we thought, why not make a flash mob out of this?

So ideas were thrown around, a Facebook group was made, invites were sent and it might actually happen on Saturday. Let’s just hope we have good weather and no other reason to cancel this thing.

I had the chance to participate in a flash mob organized by the people behind Manila Design Week last August 11. It involved doodling on each other’s white shirts.

The thing is I didn’t have a white shirt with me. Boo. So I took photographs instead.
