It’s easier in Australia because our mountains are pretty flat. I have been up about 5-10 different mountains around my city, and (walking) another 5 or so elsewhere. I have been up another 20 or so by means other than walking too.

In terms of sitting on top of the mountain I haven’t done that as much. Maybe 3-5 mountains.

Always one of the most satisfying feelings of accomplishment in the world and a great bonding experience with who ever is there with you, be them old old friends or strangers.

I’ve done this at half dome and also in Machu Pichu (the picture is Wayapichu behind machu pichu) and hope to do it again at Mount Shasta sometimes in the next few years.

In fact my pace is getting faster. You know, it’s not nice to let someone wait for too long…

But I couldn’t sit for too long… it was getting late. Almost didn’t make it off the mountain; the snow was getting icy. But it was worth it.

I liked this – I thought it so absolutely not my thing, but now, after spending almost three months in the Alps, I cannot imagine not doing it over and over again.

    Fantastic!
