and have started filling them up!
How to start recycling
How I did it: Basically, I looked on my local council's web site to see when they collect recycling and what kind of items they will recycle. For my area, it's pretty easy - there are brown bags for paper, cardboard, etc and green bags for plastic bottles and tins. The only downside is that they don't collect glass, so as I'm still pretty lazy, the wine bottles go in the bin!
Lessons & tips: My neighbours seem to put out their recycling bags every week, even if they're not full, but that seems to be a bit counterproductive in my opinion, as it uses more plastic bags. I always wait until mine are full before putting them out for collection.

So I found out how to recycle my paper, and I dropped off my first load. But the place on the map where I’m supposed to take the plastic, glass, and cans doesn’t seem to exist. So this quest will continue another weekend…

This would be easy to do, if I just got around to looking up the information. So that’s my goal for this weekend: find the recycling place, set out containers, and drop off my first load.
Well I found out from my council – http://www.oadby-wigston.gov.uk/Home/Client%20Services/Waste%20and%20Recycling/Waste_and_Recycling.aspx – what I can put in each bag and I’ve just placed my first recyclable item in the brown (cardboard) bag… haha! :)
I’ll start small and then see what else I can do…

I started two months ago and it’s not as hard as I though it would be.
Unfortunately, the only items recycled in my town are 1’s & 2’s [nothing for plastics 3 to 7].
At least they take tin cans and newspapers…

We try to be eco-friendly, but our mid-rise lifestyle and 800 sqft apt does not exactly make recycling easy. We have promised ourselves, however, that we will find a feasible way to start – 75% of our trash can be recycled!
I started recycling! In my city, we have just one bin that we put plastics, paper, cans, and so on in. It so easy, i cant believe how much there is to recycle. anyways, i recommend it for everyone, and am on a mission to get my family to do this also, im not like a freak about it or anything but its actually gratifying!
My mom is a recycling fanatic, so I’ve always understood the importance. However, my roomate doesn’t care about recycling, and we live in the tiniest apartment EVER, so it’s hard to even find room for a recycling box. Also, we walk almost everywhere, but the recycling center is a driving distance away … I wish I could just get into the habit of it and stop making excuses.
At least I’ve gotten better at recycling all my used notebook paper at the college. It’s a start.
