Well within my reach! 4 months ago

In my last entry for this goal, I mentioned the possibility of switching to a Masters degree. I have now made that switch, so it will be another year before I graduate. However, if I’d stayed on the Bachelors I’d be graduating in about three weeks.

Based on my most recent exam results I’ve calculated that if I were graduating this year, I’d be doing so with a 2.1. Furthermore, if I were to pack in the Masters between now and my final exams next year, I would still graduate with a 2.1 Bachelors. Therefore the only threat to this goal now is if I slip-up during my Masters year. I am slightly concerned about this possibility (because I’m a natural worrier!), but my personal tutor has assured me that most people find the 4th year is their best one, and he predicts I’ll get a 2.1. Certainly, my results this year have been higher than any of my previous grades, so I hope that this trend will continue.

    halfway there... 8 months ago

I got my mid year results about a fortnight ago, and combined with my grade from last year it counts as 50% of my degree. the result – a slap-bang-in-the-middle 2:1 grade

    hurrah!
now just the next lot to get through…

For the last two years I’ve been increasing with my grade scores – I got a mid 2:2 at the end of the first year and a low 2:1 at the end of this year. Hopefully, this will carry on, but a big clue to how successful I’ll be is when I get my first-term essays back around the end of february – I’ll let you know how I get on then

    2.1! Score!

I feel very underwhelmed at the moment, I’m just realizing how much hard work and how many all nighters I put into achieving this. But yeah, I know when it sinks in I will be very happy and proud of myself.

Closer than ever! 16 months ago

Just got my results for last semester and they’re waaaaay up on the semester before! I’m still averaging a 2.2 but it’s a high 2.2 and it’s the closest to a 2.1 that I’ve ever been. I also did well enough that I should be able to switch from my Bachelors degree to a Masters degree! Very happy!

The course has ended, I’m about 65% sure that I failed in my goal, but I can hope…

Maybe out of reach... :( 20 months ago

Well last year I was averaging 59%, so with a bit more hard work I could have got a 2.1. This year (which actually contributes to my degree – last year didn’t), I’ve just found out that so far I’ve got a 47% average, which isn’t even a 2.2.

I’m really disappointed; I have no idea how this could have happened. There was one module that I knew I was going to do badly in, I’m fine with that. But the module that I really understood, the module that had a brilliant exam, the module I was expecting 85% in… I got 51% (and that alone dragged my average down by 7%). Shocked and not happy.

Well I’ll need to get 60% or more to get a 2.1 degree and in my first year at Uni I got an average of 58.5%. So I’m not there yet but I’m not far off; aiming for 61.5% next year to compensate.

    got a 2:2 2 years ago

not gutted – not pleased. just glad i don’t have to go back to uni. I wanna work and get some money now.

Well I've finished the exams 2 years ago
