Honda’s Element looks like a dumpster abandoned in the middle of the road-especially if it’s that khaki green color. It’s the sort of thing you’d want your neighborhood association to ban, like campers and boats. No one’s going to key this car because it’s already hideous.
Having said that, it looks incredibly practical and dog-friendly. That hatchback is like a giant maw-you could put anything back there and probably hose it out when you’re done. You could keep your back seats stored neatly out of the car so they don’t get destroyed by dog fur, slobber, claws, etc. It would also, once cleaned out, be a cool car for hauling quilting supplies. It also comes with standard transmission. Need I say more?
All signs point to a Honda Element replacing my little Audi in the next two years.

I still want a new car, but I don’t think I want it to be an Element…We’ll see!

we got this car because my husband wanted it and i thought, well gee, they featured it in Playboy so it must be okay… wrong!
it is loud as hell, i crack my head on the big metal things that stick out between the suicide doors when they are open at least once a week – must be why they are called suicide doors because a few cracks in succession and you could kill yourself, or be braindead anyway… and messy? i thought these plastic interiors would be great for dogs and little kids, but my dog has torn up the floor and my kid has spilled god knows what into the nether regions below where the seats hook into the floors and now we have fruit flies. i suppose this would happen with any car but since i was already unhappy with this one, it just adds fuel to my hatred. Also, people are constantly approaching me for a “look inside”. While I dislike being approached by strangers, it is a useful opportunity to tell them that my next car will be a Honda and they shouldnt waste their time.

Now that I’m not going to the Mass General, I will be working full time and hopefully will be able to get the Element.
Yay!
