I finally got a dslr, a Canon Rebel T1i. I also got an additional telephoto lens. The quality of the photos is great, compared with my point and shoot (which does a nice job)

How I did it: Bit the bullet. I had wanted a Digital SLR for a long time. Photography is just a hobby for me so it was hard to justify the cost in that regard, but I knew my memories would suffer without a great way to preserve them. I ended up buying a Nikon D70s kit from an eBay retailer. The camera has been great for over 3 years and the memories I've preserved are priceless. I've also learned even more about photography than I knew before. The phot… Read how I did it…
How I did it: First I looked on dpreview to check out all the entry level models. Nikon D60, Pentax Km, Canon 1000D or Sony a300. I wanted live view so only the canon and the sony were considered. I chose the sony since it has built-in stabilization. Then I looked for the cheapest store. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I saved money. I then did a lot of research to figure out which camera was best for me. Finally, I decided to buy the Canon Rebel XS with the kit lens. I am about to buy my first telephoto lens and fisheye lens. I have had the camera for 2 months and absolutely love it. Read how I did it…

I’m looking at a Canon Rebel EOS T1-i with an extra lens. Its pretty much a started dslr, which is fine with me. It will be one step up from my point and shoot. I’m having trouble getting the quality of the photos that I want for some photos. Although my point and shoot will stay with me-its done great. This is just the beginning of exploring photography for me.
Brianna needs a worthy camera, not this tiny point & shoot.
I spoke to a friend’s brother. He’s got a dslr himself and I asked for some information, hints and things to look for. To me, there’s to much choice: Sony, Nikon, Canon, Pentax…
Well in my previous entry, I mentioned that I bought a camera I’m not completely satisfied with. Well, it’s growing on me. I’ll keep the sale ad on CL, but until someone buys it, I’ll use it regularly then buy another one that is not a refurb. I took it out today and really enjoyed all of the options on the D80!
So I bought a used D80 today from a guy off of Craigslist. I thought I got a great deal at $425. Little did I read the box that it said “Reconditioned” right on the front. Major Buyers Remorse. I’m going to try and resell this thing on CL immediately and get another one soon.
Found a D80 for $425. This is about $75 less than most used ones out there right now. Working out the details with the seller right now. I haven’t felt comfortable with any used ones until now.
Type: Personal
Why? I need to explore this hobby and talent of mine. Granted a complete setup will set me back a few hundred dollars that I don’t have. Work on paying off that car, limiting spending, and saving money. Maybe I can use Christmas money.
Do more research before buying anything!
What kind of lens do you need?

I bought my Nikon D40 two weeks ago on amazon.com after months of deciding on which D-SLR to get. It seemed the right camera for me & when it arrived in front of my doorstep I almost died. It feels just perfect in my tiny hands & the controls are easy to use. The quality of the pictures came out beyond amazing :) I absolutely adore this camera.
