Jerri LynWhat a difference!

When one is a SHE, one cannot believe how much can be accomplished 15 minutes at a time!

This is a way of life for me now; Baby Steps all the way! 7 years ago

sunyatry and see

and do it in your own way

some people find flylady’s tone bossy

i didn’t (but i usually modified her instructions)

i sometimes felt her a bit treacley

but so what . . . what works, works 7 years ago

sunyatried it

since the goal was to try flylady,

and i'm pretty well on the fly road
(in my fashion)
i'm going to close this out, continue flying
and restate this goal 7 years ago

sunyagoing slow

FLYlady wants to add routines faster than i absorb them . really absorb . so taking it slower . some of her tasks i already have in my life in different ways . like today, adding an inspiration page to my control book … which in my case is a clipboard anyway

it’s fine

i continue to be impressed with the power and effectiveness of really really short assignments

still going! 7 years ago

sunyaconfession

i haven’t been able to find my timer which i already have one and one i really like

. . . so i’ve been kinda guessing about when two minutes are, or when five minutes are

well for today, i decided to find it dammit

and i did . . . in about ninety seconds!

so . did a real two minute hot spot great
and a real five minute declutter (but not with the boxes . i’ll have to find an alternative) and that was fabulous

so still flying 7 years ago

sunyaanother day 8

i’m not sure how it happened, but i got a little busy, and when i returned to flylady routine, i was on day 8 again

here we’re supposed make a three ring binder . i’m adapting for a clipboard . i use those binders a lot for other stuff . i want this to be more streamlined

my custom routines:
am get dressed, read reminders, FLY
pm two minute hot spot, five tibetans exercises, declutter, sink

still liking this . . . 7 years ago

sunyaday 8

going good - making my own versions of the daily tasks - which i see makes very good sense, since these are supposed to become ingrained habits

i won’t lay out my clothes every evening for the next day like i’m five years old—i’ve substituted my exercises, which means i’ve been doing them each day

onward 7 years ago

sunyaday 5

so the added task for today is to write down what i hear—the negative critical you’re bad voices

i’ve been wanting to confess (loaded bad bad word) that i’ve been cutting corners on the previous tasks

like i’m supposed to shine the sink - but instead, i keep it more or less clear. like, a the end of the night, i clear it, except that sometimes there’s stuff in there later than the end of the night - including what i might put there myself—but i still count that as keeping it clear, which isn’t the same as keeping it shined anyway

and i haven’t always gotten totally dressed—though i try to keep to the spirit of the instruction, putting on at least house clothes. i don’t really use lace shoes, so that was out anyway

and when i put up the postit note on the mirror like i was supposed to—i wrote “get dressed” and “empty sink” not the real things like i was supposed to

but, fer cryin’ out loud, as my imaginary uncle used to say, better to do the stuff - even badly or wrong in some way - than not do it at all

better not to be a perfectionist, but to make progress

MUCH BETTER

so those are my words of encouragement—also a task for today 7 years ago

sunyaday three

easy flylady day—shine, dress, spend a couple of minutes reading the website

done! 7 years ago

sunyaday two

got dressed—to my shoes

and kept the sink clean

about to check tomorrow’s assignment 7 years ago

sunyashining

wellll, maybe not shining, but looking pretty darned good

as flylady says: “know in your heart that you have cleaned it very well now and it doesn’t have to be perfect”

yes, i have a sense of accomplishment, as intended, but mostly, i feel i’m With The Program—getting started w/ the flylady plan

tomorrow—getting dressed (to lace-up shoes!) 7 years ago

sunyashine

flylady seems to set a pretty high standard in this case, and after another round of soaking and intensely focused scrubbing, a few streaks of greenish scum are still visible

so what—the sink hasn’t looked this good probably since we moved in

the area around the sink, i’m not saying

so now to shine—i don’t think i have windex, so i’ll see what i can come up with. she says olive oil! sounds weird, but if flylady says so… 7 years ago

sunyascrubbing with cleanser

heavy labor here!

used toothbrush for edges—ok on porcelain, but grout or sealant or whatever that stuff is stays brown

some scum wouldn’t scrub off, so returning to bleach soak, but with sink only half full, so full hour should be possible without flooding 7 years ago

sunyasoak in bleach

because of a leaky faucet, this step could only be done for 20 minutes instead of a hour, but so be it

or soak be it? 7 years ago

sunyapolishing the sink

i just learned about flylady from another 43 things entry—and i’ll give her a try

she sounds a bit too - cheerful, i guess - for my taste, but we’ll see

for now, i actually am starting with her sink polishing instructions

(i must be desperate) 7 years ago
