understand the world better

It is an ongoing ,life long process.

Among all the things , i find politics very important but very disgusting.I don’t ,don’t understand it.

The more i see things in detail , the more i find that i have yet to go a long long way in understanding this world.This person was accused of inciting violence in a town.Nearly everyone including me believed so.Then i had the chance to go to that town and meet a number of people and see the situation and things in greater details.I found that media and politics had declared him to be a villain in such a way that to think in any other way would appear ridiculous.I couldnot believe that media could be so much instrumental in distorting the reality.And how gullible of people like me who think they are alert but are actually not so and form their `considered opinions’ mainly on the basis of media reports.Now it is not possible to get into the details of every issue or event.Nor can one perhaps escape media?Why do we have so many obstacles in the way of knowing Truth and understanding?What should be done to overcome the barriers against understanding?

I was discussing with a friend whether children should be taught idealism and kept a bit sheltered from reality,or should they be exposed to reality as early as possible.It sounds funny that reality is far removed from ideals.Why this is so , i can not understand.Please comment.

Last evening ,a friend asked me which branch of knowledge i was interested in.I said that i want to understand this world and life.So all and any branch of knowledge fascinates me.Whether it is poetry,literature,prose ,or science or technology or philosophy,all help me to understand this world and i am equally fascinated by them.

Language is one of the instruments to understand the world and the people.I must master as many laguages of the world as possible.Enthusiasm,love and laughter are other types of languages i have to learn better.

I am witnessing a situation in which i find people indulging in conspiracy against others.Practically there are no holds barred ;it is difficult to find a solution.This is all because of power politics,intrigues,oneupmanship and jealousies.I do not see any remedy,or is it worth attempting to find one?

Each human being is a universe,so said Walt Whitman.We want to understand so many individuals.What a gigantic task!

Understanding this world requires not only understanding the physical side,the institutional side, the complex historical forces and the millions of individuals that i feel overwhelmed with Tennyson:So many worlds, so much to do, so little done, such things to be.”~ Lord Alfred Tennyson

To understand modern world,I realize that i have to understand globalization,its plusses and its minusses.`Understanding the world’ is a mutilayered goal.

The more i think, the more i am convinced that this is my most important goal.All the aspects-mental,physical,spiritual,emotional,cultural,political,economic,environmental get covered.I will pursue each of these aspects.
