How to go snowboarding this season by BordrGuy108

"I went snowboarding in Tahoe this Spring break and it was awesome!"

How I did it: Five freinds and I went drove up to Tahoe this past Saturday and snowboarded Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. We went to Tahoe Donner the first day, Boreal the second, and Northstar the third. We stayed in Truckee at my friend's cabin, snowboarded during the day, and chilled at night. Overall it was a great few days.

Lessons & tips:

  1. Don't get discouraged if you feel you are worse than others around you. Just keep at it and have fun. Practice makes perfect.
  2. Try and push yourself. It's natural to want to stay in that slow, easy, comfort zone, but that won't make you better. Don't be reckless, but go for that extra speed or those small jumps even if you are nervous. Even if you wipe out you'll get better and be glad you tried something new. 
  3. Make sure your boots and bindings are tight! If your heel is sliding up your boot as you are snowboarding your boots are probably not tight enough. When your heel is not locked in, you are unable to control your board nearly as well as when you have a snug fit. This can cause your legs and feet to get tired much more quickly and might be the reason for some of your wipeouts. 
  4. Have fun and make sure to throw snowballs at your friends when they aren't looking.

    i’m worried the season is over. put my snowboard by the door so i had to look at it. visions. all the snow has melted. was broke while it was here. going to call local mountains (hills) and see if there is anything left.

    Went to Hokkaido for 4 days… so much powder… got in a few jumps and a bunch of tree runs. Maaaaan I love tree runs. There was even a tonne of powder in the groomer @ Niseko. Loved it so much i’m goin back in March for 4 days.

    Going to Hokkaido (Niseko) on Feb 13th to visit my brother… So I should have 4 days of snowbaording around my birthday. And on Feb 26th I’m doing a 1 day trip with Jeff to Gala. Hopefully after that on Wednesdays I can go with Suguru and other weekdays with Takako.
