For my birthday I bought myself tickets.
I attended the simulcast at the park a couple of weeks ago and it was so much nicer than I thought it was. So I bought tickets for the remainder of the season. First one in the opera house is Saturday night. I can’t wait.

Il Tamerlano – Vivaldi
Rigoletto – Verdi
Peter Grimes – Britten
Turandot – Puccini
Die Fledermaus – Mozart
All very good! I saw the first four done by the Washington National Opera and the third one by the Nashville Opera…the Washington ones were definitely better but I enjoyed them all. :)

Well I attended the PHANTOM of the Opera at least. LOL. Maybe someday we can make it to a real opera . ;)
I took all three kids with me to POTO and it honestly one of the best things I’ve ever done. The youngest got a little bored at times but was still interested enough to sit down and watch. My daughter was enthralled the whole time and even my teenager watched with rapt attention. The looks on their faces as they watched will be etched in my memory for many years. :)
I highly recommend experiencing POTO with your children at some point. The way we were able to afford it was by getting discounted tickets during the school performance. Tickets were offered at half the regular price and our seats were fantastic!

I will be able to complete this goal in October when I take the oldest two kids to see Phantom of the Opera. I can’t wait!

I am not a huge opera fan, but was invited to go see La Traviata by Verdi. While it was sung in Italian, I was able to understand the emotion and the gist of the story. It was incredible!
