find more good music

My good friend in Philly decided that I need to listen to more dance music and made me a mix to learn from. I’m looking forward to enjoying some LCD Soundsystem on the way to work tomorrow.

I am obsessed with Bob Dylan. I’ve been listening to his music constantly and just read Down The Highway: The Life of Bob Dylan. This is going to send me down an old school folk path for awhile I believe.

My roommate is a musician and knows SO MUCH about all types of music. I feel rather uneducated around him. So I’m on the hunt for some good acoustic/indie/punk bands. Suggestions?

those websites help me find some good music, that really satisify me. but sometimes i am so overwhelmed because there is too much music! now i have 40 gb of music! :(

i have new year’s resolution to be able to say who my favorite bands/musicians are. it’s a subset of being passionate about what i love, and it also includes being able to name my favorite authors, books, and quotes. i feel like such a dork for not being able to do this. actually, i feel sad for myself, especially since i am both a singer and a writer. and i never let myself by multiple CDs/books from artists/writers i love. geez. thanks, catholic school…anyway, i decided it is not ok to be so noncommittal about such important issues, so my favorite bands/performers include: Beck, Yo La Tengo, Elliott Smith, Interpol, Reisender, Doves, Louis Armstrong, Diana Krall. still working on this list, but it’s a start at least, and more than i could do 3 weeks ago.

poeple like music back then and thats where i went to the past looked up some peopole that i new were the rant of every one but i just never bother now now i understand. my other sercret was too find the artist that my artist like the ones that they listen to to see if i like them, this works best with artist and musicain not the coparate sloth that on the top 10 i sure there’s about 4 reall artist on there and thats me being polite
