I’m allowing space now for things I DO want!
I need to get rid of the clutter in my life. I spend more time maintaining the things I don’t use than doing things I want to do!
A list of 15 things that are important to me:
My Health
My Son and his education
The environment
My Pets
Siamese Rescue
My relationship with Dan
My Art
Sewing
Photography
My Computer
Green Living
Skating
Going out and enjoying friends and nature
Snowboarding
Home Improvement
Everything that does not help in these endeavors GOES!

I am going on a trip around the world for over a year and i have had to sell EVERYTHING in my house. Furniture, clothes, books, picture frames (not pictures) forks, lights (save those for last) im talking everything. I have one box full of keepsakes and one backpack that i am takig with me and that is it. It is probably the most freeing thing i have ever done. I can go any where and do anything now and i have nothing holding me back. I highly recommend if for no other reason than the zen like euphoria of not being tied to material things. Beleive me i was a pack rat, clothes horse, who spent way too much on shoes and takes way to many trips to the mall, but once i started getting rid of stuff it became much easier. Good luck to all that try!!!
and it was probably the hardest thing I ever attempted. BUT, do I really need all those silly things? Not really. I need the hand-written letters, the things that make me happy more than I need the extra 13 mis-matched, plastic tumblers, the countless bottles of half-used cosmetics, the quite-ordinary bed linens…
I was moving and it made sense not to bring it all with me. I had a “free sale” and gave it away and called Goodwill to pick up the rest.
i think by this timew next week i’ll have gone through all my clothes…i need to be better at getting rid of them, i always think “i may wear this in the futrure”, but, right, clothes fone by next week!
I kept what I need to use for emergencies and what I use on a daily basis. I also considered things I use for comfort and a box full of things that mean so much to me (that I’ll use for things I’ll tend to forget but need to cherish). The rest was all just “stuff” and could either be replaced or I didn’t need.
I did this in January, but in the 9 months since then, my room has returned to it’s former, over-stuffed self. I need to go through everything in my room and take out the things I don’t want and don’t need. It’ll probably make me feel a lot better about myself too.

This goal is not specific enough for me… I may love something today but not tomorrow? Or pretend I may need it in the future?? Better to have a concrete number-type goal.
