see Tom Waits perform live

I made the pilgrimmage to see Tom Waits in Dublin this summer. It truly was this mad spontaneous idea that seemed completely impossible at the time it was conceived, and then somehow it all came together, and I was there. Now I can’t even explain to people how the show was. Mr. Waits smashed me into bits and built me up again. It was a life-changing 3 hours. Definitely worth doing!!!

My husband really is more of a fan than I am. That said, I actually enjoy the music for shorter periods of time.

My concert going experience was basically ruined though. He started an hour late, (ostensibly due to the stupid ticketing crap) and I was sitting next to this ass of a man who 1) wouldn’t stop rambling and asking questions before the concert 2) Didn’t shut up during the concert. Periodically, he would yell “Play something!” Which, during the hour wait, didn’t bug me so much. Only, he kept on yelling that whenever the dynamics of the music got quiet.

Halfway through, the music started running together. (That starts out like this other song – and one that was played four songs ago.)

It was just as amazing as I’d hoped.

We bought tickets for the show in St Louis. Fantastic seats! Can’t sleep!

Saw him in Akron and Cleveland Ohio, August 2006. Superb!

...his shows always sell out in like ten minutes. i would fly anywhere in the world to see him in concert. the day i get tickets, i think i will literally DIE of happiness.

Great show at the Opera House: my brother and I lucked into great seats at the very front of the balcony!

Easily the best live show I have ever seen.
