I’ve been getting acupuncture for a little over two months now. I wish I had a session today.

Starting tomorrow, I’ll have a new practitioner, so we’ll see how that goes.
For Monday with a new acupuncturist. I haven’t been since I have moved to nyc. I am apprehensive about going! I am toying with the idea of canceling. I always feel so vulnerable on that table even though it is usually like a little cocoon in the room with soft light, incense, and soothing music. but I love the way I feel lying there once the needles are in, feeling the surge of energy move through me, the peace I feel after lying there in meditation.

...& it’d recommend it to anyone for certain ailments, esp chronic ones that western medicine seems to only treat “symptomatically…” — my body is actually Healing, not just being given a crutch to limp thru to the next day…
Love acupuncture; it’s tremendously helpful; can’t live without it. Love five element acupuncture in particular. Kind of a minor, more classical form. Very good at balancing body, mind and spirit. It’s my favorite form of treatment beyond all others. Check out www.fivelement.com for more info on what that practice is—it’s hard to learn about otherwise.
It’s helped me in a variety of ways – with quitting smoking, with a scar from an accident, with liver repair, with general flow of energy (chi), with relaxation, with emotional processing. Where i go, acupuncture is combined with massage and at times cupping. Wonderful. A loving, caring practioner is key, and I have found one here.

I needle myself every once in a while. But it’s not the same as having someone else help you with healing. Ithink it’s more powerful due to intention, when you’re healing/meditating/other energetic or spiritual work with other people, the power of the intention increases logarithmically.
