The wind from the mountain air threw the open window of the car feels like being reborn, so i guess I am reborn once a week.
I’m not sure if it’s a combination of the sparks and the 80’s revival mixed cd and singing on the top of our lungs, or knowing you are so close to civilization but 3000ft in the mountains driving 50mph where the tempeture decreases 10 degrees with every mounting increase of the latitude.
Its great feeling free for those few hours, smoking ciggerettes and thinking of nothing but what is around you. Being happy with the person sitting next to you, a slight touch of their hand on your arm and the silly stories you occasionally swap while looking for deer and other wildlife.
Maybe it’s just how the ride starts at the beginning when you decide if you want to go north or south on the parkway….the very choices that determine the scenery, the views and the cd we listen to…..when its over, its great to know that it will happen all over again next week.

One of these things worked for me … not sure which one, ‘cause I did them all at the same time:
1. Got an MRI (I was having horrible headaches)
2. Took St. Johns Wort
3. Took Sam-E
4. Took muscle relaxers for my headaches when I felt them coming on.
UPSIDE: No depression … interesting side note … I no longer have excrutiating stress headaches (knot at the back of my neck, right side, stabbing pain behind my right eye) that wake me up at 2AM sending me to the emergency room.
DOWNSIDE:... I developed excema … not a bad trade if you ask me … pass the anti-itch medicine please.
Here I am almost 49 (eeeek!) and a single (again … for the past seven years) mom (my son is 19 and in college). Surprisingly, I find myself very happy and content. I thought I would be “longing for a relationship”, but I enjoy my work, my friends, my solitude.
Not a bad place to be in life.
I want to continue this way. Gone are the “highs and lows”. Really nice feeling.
