since the picture isn’t showing up at the moment, it’s a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ38

A new camera! Got it on Monday and the next step would be to fully learn to use it and actualise its potential. Sure I know how to take pictures with it but I want more – basically to be able to use the different modes in a meaningful way (and not just randomly picking a mode and trying to get a decent picture :D). Am very pleased with the camera, the size is decent enough to carry around without too much of a hassle and the 18x zoom is impressive to say the least.

I want to learn to use my camera and develop pics on the computer. Plus email pics to friends.

    More photos! 3 years ago

I’ve started taking my camera with me anytime I go on walks, and messing around with all of the modes, to experiment with the results. Even though reading the manual might in some ways be quicker, I know that I learn best by experience and feel. I’ve been fairly happy with some of the photos I’ve taken – and really, one photo I’m fond of out of every 200 is a slightly higher ratio than I expect (and digital makes that ratio affordable to me). So, progress!

I had a Cannon A40 point&shoot digital for the longest time… I loved it, it did exactly what I wanted it to. I upgraded to a G6 … I haven’t been able to take a decent picture since, save for flowers. And you know, flowers. They just stand there in the sunshine and pose. It’s pretty hard to screw that up.

So now I guess I actually have to find the manual buried deep in my closet and learn how to really use it, so that it will do my bidding.

    Been using 3 years ago

the camera and found many of the options. Still lots to learn but then there always is. I’m confident I know what options I have available I just need practice in using them now.
