Yes, a maid service is wonderful. No it does not make you a neater person.

Yes, it works from time to time when you are really busy. But sometimes you want to do them yourself, so there’s no need really. But if schedules are really tight and you have no time then a maid will surely help. Just make sure you know the person or she has good referrals from other family members.
