I recently published a new story on my blog, FictionPress.com, and GoodReads.com. It’s about a lawyer who gets too closely involved with organized crime and only 420 words long. Let me know what you think.

Well, I’ve done it. I’ve quasi-self-published my first short story. It’s called “The House of the Rising Sun,” and it developed from a thought I had one day while driving home from school. Please let me know any comments you have.
I also set up a new blog, as well as a strange thing over at GoodReads.com, on which to publish any short stories I birth.
As a law student, I don’t have a lot of time to work on stories, and that discourages me from doing much more than thinking about possible ideas. Today, I discovered this website, which publishes “very short novels.” I mean very short novels: 299 words or less.
So that got me thinking: do I need to write a novel to express myself artistically? Why can’t I write very short novels? So today, I began working on a story that, at present, is only 467 words. I’ve told the whole story, and I don’t plan on adding length. In fact, I may actually cut out a few words.
So if you’re like me and don’t have a lot of time to devote to the art of writing but you want to write, maybe you should try writing very short novels.
