I really do not care much about cars…but a Mini is much much more than an ordinary car…

How I did it: After waiting and saving, and waiting some more, I finally got to a point in my life where I could buy a MINI without having to actually live in it.
I ordered it directly off the MINIUSA site, sent the info to my dealer and had to wait just over a month to receive it.
Best car I've ever owned!
Lessons & tips: Being able to build your own car on MINIUSA.com, helped to cement exactly what model and packages I wanted. I could also see the actual price and work with my bank to get financing.

bought an ‘05 mini cooper in late 2004. simply adore the thing. the handling is like that of a go kart, it’s sturdily built and, it can be parallel parked in spaces literally less than 6” longer than the car. a word to the wise though, buy one with a manual gearbox. the mileage tanks with an automatic gearbox but, i get well over 40 mpg with the 5-speed.

I loved my Mini. Really. And it loved me too.
But I betrayed my heart, and my car, when we moved to Boston. There was no good reason to have a second car in this town. Plus, how could I subject my dear Mini to the insane drivers in this automotive free-for-all? So I sold it. I did. Damn near broke my heart. But a guy flew in from Helena, Montana on a one-way ticket and paid cash. Turns out there are no Mini dealers in Montana, or Idaho for that matter. He drove it back and now loves and cares for it. Sniff.
Not there yet.

Dark silver, white top, Cooper S, and so very addicting. No cops yet (keeping my fingers crossed.) I cant wait to find the nearest mountain road!
